IL 27 Mouse

IL-27 consists of two subunits:

1. EBI3 (Epstein-Barr virus-induced gene 3): This subunit is related to the IL-12p40 protein.
2. p28 (also known as IL-30): This subunit is related to the IL-12p35 polypeptide .

These subunits form a complex that is essential for the cytokine’s biological activity. The recombinant mouse IL-27 is produced in E. coli and is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 207 amino acids, with a molecular mass of approximately 23.7 kDa .

IL-27 has several important functions in the immune system:

• Activation of Naïve T Cells: IL-27 signaling occurs via a receptor complex composed of WSX-1 and glycoprotein (gp) 130. This signaling leads to the activation and phosphorylation of STAT1 and STAT3 in naïve CD4+ T cells .
• Proliferation of Erythroleukemic Cells: Recombinant mouse IL-27 induces the proliferation of TF-1 human erythroleukemic cells in a dose-dependent manner .
• Inhibition of IL-17A Expression: Mouse p28, a component of IL-27, inhibits TGF-beta and IL-6-induced IL-17A expression in mouse CD4 splenocytes .

Recombinant mouse IL-27 is used in various research applications, including:

• Immunological Studies: To understand the role of IL-27 in immune regulation and its potential therapeutic applications.
• Cell Proliferation Assays: To study the effects of IL-27 on cell proliferation and signaling pathways.

For optimal results, recombinant mouse IL-27 should be stored at -20°C or colder. It is stable at room temperature for up to three weeks when lyophilized but should be stored desiccated below -18°C for long-term storage. Upon reconstitution, it should be stored at 4°C for short-term use .
